The 2010s brought change with the society moving to perform 2 full scale musicals each year moving away from the traditional Christmas variety concerts.
Our shows in this time included classics such as “The Sound of Music” and more contemporary productions including “Mary Poppins” and “The Producers”
There were exciting developments in the later part of the decade with the council securing funding to modernise the facilities at the Union Theatre. This did mean that in 2019 we had to find an alternative venue whilst our home was rennovated.
We returned to the Lithgow High School in May 2019 performing a variety show themed on our “Greatest Hits” and followed this up at the St. Patrick’s School Hall with our first ever rock musical, Queen’s “We Will Rock You”
We ended 2019 looking forward to returning to our new home in 2020 not knowing the challenges the new year would bring…
